Frequently Asked Questions
Does my computer have a virus?
Computer viruses and malware can go undetected for long periods of time. Often though, the signs begin to show: slow / sluggish performance, new icons you don't remember on your desktop, new search provider in your browser, sudden influx of pop-ups or other targeted ads, WARNING/FBI/LOCK screens trying to extort you for money, etc. If you see any of these signs, or suspect your device may be infected, turn it off and call us!
My screen is [frozen/blank/black], what can I do?
- First, try holding-down the power button for at least 10 seconds. If the device turns off, wait a few seconds and then try to boot again. If that doesn't work:
- Second, unplug the power cord and remove the battery if possible (portable devices). Wait for a moment, and then re-install battery and try to boot again. If that still doesn't work:
- Third, unplug the power cord and remove the battery again! This time, wait for at least 30 minutes and then try to boot again. If something was overheating, this may help us determine the problem. If this is the only way you can get you device to boot, you should probably give us a call!
